Description
Ana Foods Jaggery or Gundu Vellam or Mandai Vellam or Gur is made via ancient techniques by crushing sugar cane and boiling the juice to more than 200 degrees Celsius in large, shallow, round bottom vessels.
Usage:
- Can be used instead of white sugar to make your sweets healthier and tastier
- Can be used to make Ladoo. Acts as a good binding agent

Manufacturing:
- Fresh juice from sugarcane is extracted using the crusher
- The extracted juice is filtered and then added to a large iron vessel to be processed
- The fresh juice is heated for about 3-4 hours with continuous monitoring and stirring
- The dirt that gets collected at the top while boiling is removed manually
- After boiling for about 3-4 hours, the juice solidifies and when it comes to desired consistency, the semi solid-liquid is made into balls by rolling it with a cloth
- As it cools down a bit after rolling, it is allowed to dry for 2-3 days
- The jaggery is packed, sealed, and reaches you to make your life healthier and tastier
